Shipping Guide

If you are shipping a bird to Point & Frame Taxidermy, proper preparation and packing are essential to ensure the specimen arrives safely and in good condition.

Before shipping, your bird must be properly cleaned, wrapped, and frozen solid. If you have not prepared your bird yet, please review the Bird Preparation Guide before continuing.

Before shipping your bird, make sure all required paperwork is completed.

• Fill out your migratory tag or state harvest tag if applicable.
• Complete the Point & Frame Taxidermy Intake Form.

Place all required paperwork inside a separate Ziplock bag and include it inside the cooler.

Migratory Tag Form can be found here.

Birds that arrive without proper tags or paperwork may be returned to the sender at their own expense.

When to Ship

Packing Your Bird

  • Step 1

Place the fully frozen bird inside a Styrofoam cooler.

Add dry ice packs or frozen packs to help maintain temperature during shipping.

  • Step 2

    Add packing material such as:

    • newspaper
    • packing paper
    • shopping bags

This prevents the bird from shifting or becoming damaged during transit.

  • Step 3

Place the sealed Ziplock bag containing your paperwork inside the cooler.

  • Step 4

Insert the cooler into a sturdy shipping box. The cooler and box should fit snugly together to prevent movement during shipping.

  • Step 5

Take the package directly to your shipping carrier immediately after packing.

Shipping addresses are provided after contacting the studio to avoid birds being sent without prior notice.

Once your shipment has been sent:

• Notify Point & Frame Taxidermy that your bird is on the way
• Keep your shipping receipt and tracking information
• Wait for confirmation that the bird has been received safely
